The Cosmopoetic Studio

From the internal voices of our somatic lives and the communal energies shaping affective relations, to the environmental bonds that open onto cosmic connection, poetics speaks toward the potentiality of an imaginary power. This is a power grounded in the sacredness of soul and the capacity of a loving ear, and that lends to techniques of change-work: the world-creating acts and conjurings that deploy a logic of connection and deep participation. Against the numbing and debilitating effect of current necropolitical capture, we’re interested to follow poetic, imaginary power further, toward cosmopoetics. Cosmopoetics is highlighted as a creative path of vitality – it is imaged as a means for returning to ourselves, as beings steeped in beingness, a poetics of being that honors the deep earth, attuning to the frequencies of a vibrational commons, and that manifests in the aesthetic exuberance of free life.

Submerged in a radical whirl of eclectic thought, the soulful passions of an erotic feeling, and the courage to listen and listen again, The Cosmopoetic Studio is proposed as a center of vitality. It signals the opening of a journey, and an invitation, as part of our research and sharing activity in preparation for The Listening Biennial 2027. The Studio is a poetic space, an elemental figure, a social energy, for meeting and gathering resonances. It is one point within a constellation of partner spaces and initiatives around the world, who will be active over the coming year in exploring their own forms of cosmopoetic listening. We’re looking forward to holding this space and community of resonance, and to working at a range of poetic inquiries and manifestations together. 

Launched in July 2026, The Studio is being developed by ( ether o ) Chia-Liang Lai, Patricia Hegglin and Brandon LaBelle, in collaboration with invited guests.
